“Our newborn photoshoot with Anja was simply wonderful. The shoot took place in a very relaxed atmosphere at our home, and Anja took care of everything—from blankets, pillows, and the right lighting to some really cute outfits for our son—she brought it all with her. We didn’t have to worry about a thing, which was a huge relief, especially during the postpartum period.”

With her warm personality, she creates such a special, pleasant atmosphere that’s truly one of a kind. She’s also incredibly patient, and you can tell right from the very first minute how much passion she puts into her work.
The photos turned out absolutely beautiful and are wonderful memories of this special time.

“We wholeheartedly recommend Anja and are already looking forward to our next photo shoot with her!”

“We couldn’t be happier with our newborn photoshoot with Anja!
Right from the very first contact, the communication was simply outstanding: incredibly fast, warm, and personal. We immediately felt that we were in exactly the right place with her.

During the shoot itself, Anja created a uniquely warm and relaxed atmosphere. It wasn’t “just” about photos—you could feel her genuine interest and a great deal of sensitivity. She tailored everything completely to our baby’s needs and mood. Her many creative ideas, photo inspirations, and help with outfits and accessories made the shoot something truly special.

The result exceeded all of our expectations […]. In summary, we can say: we wholeheartedly recommend Anja. If you’re looking not only for beautiful photos but also for a truly warm and welcoming experience, she’s the perfect choice.”

“We couldn’t have imagined more beautiful newborn photoshoots! Anja was there for us […] during a very special moment—our newborn photoshoot. She won me over right from our first conversation with her friendly, down-to-earth manner.

During our appointment, she took plenty of time for us, even when my little one kept wanting to nurse. We never felt rushed. The onesies and accessories from her collection were perfect, too. I especially appreciate Anja’s natural style and eye for detail […].

She sent us the photos the very next day, and they were simply amazing. […] Anja is a professional photographer with a lot of heart and passion. I highly recommend her and would book a photo shoot with her again in a heartbeat.”

Ideally between days 5 and 14

When is the best time for your newborn photo shoot?

The ideal time for a newborn photoshoot is between the fifth and fourteenth day after birth. During this time, your baby is still sleeping deeply and a lot. The classic newborn poses result in dreamy newborn photos.

After the birth, you should give yourselves a few days to adjust to your new family situation. The first growth spurt begins as early as the second week of life, so the baby will quickly outgrow the newborn stage.

Here’s how to book a session for your newborn

It’s best to book your newborn photo shoot while you’re still pregnant. Feel free to reach out anytime starting in your twelfth week of pregnancy to reserve a tentative date after your estimated due date (EDD). After the birth, please contact me via WhatsApp within 1–2 days. Then we’ll set the final date. I photograph only a limited number of newborns each week, so I can offer you a photo session even if your original date needs to be rescheduled.

If you’re already proud parents and would like to book a newborn photo shoot on short notice, please get in touch as soon as possible. I’ll be happy to see if I can fit you in!

Timeless rather than trendy

Natural Newborn Photography: Subtle Colors and Accessories

My newborn photography is natural, harmonious, and timeless. As a newborn photographer in Munich, I capture your first moments and the beauty of your baby in its purest form.

Soft Colors: I love newborn photos in soft, delicate colors. A harmonious color palette—such as soft cream tones, gentle beige, and pale pink—will make your baby shine.

Subtle Accessories: We highlight the beauty of your newborn with stylish details. Cozy wraps, hand-knitted hats, and soft blankets perfectly complement your newborn photos without overwhelming them.

Authentic Moments: I avoid staged poses and make the baby’s safety my top priority. I capture moments like a sleepy yawn, tiny fingers, or those first curious glances.

Natural Light: In my newborn photography, I don’t use a flash; instead, I work with soft natural light. It flatters a baby’s delicate skin and gives the newborn photos a natural look.

Home story or studio

Where will your newborn photo shoot take place in Munich?

You can choose between a home photo shoot at your place and my natural-light studio. Most families opt for the home photo shoot because a photo session there is noticeably more relaxed during the first few days after the birth.

Newborn Photoshoot at Your Home

Your newborn is calmest at home, where they feel comfortable and safe. With the Homestory, you save yourself the trip, have everything you need (pacifier, burp cloth, diapers, stuffed animal, toys, snacks) within easy reach, and can take breaks whenever you want. I’ll bring everything we need for our photo shoot.

I’ll come to you anywhere in Munich—whether it’s Maxvorstadt, Schwabing, Haidhausen, Bogenhausen, or any other neighborhood. I also travel to the districts of Munich, Ebersberg, Starnberg, Fürstenfeldbruck, and Dachau.

Newborn Photoshoot at the Photo Studio

If you’d prefer to come to me, I’d be happy to welcome you to my studio in Munich-Trudering, which has plenty of natural light. Just let me know, and we can discuss what works best for you during our preliminary consultation.

Relaxed and without time pressure

Here’s how your newborn photo shoot with me works

How long does the photo shoot take?

A newborn photoshoot usually lasts two to three hours. With siblings and plenty of breaks for breastfeeding and cuddling, it may take a little longer. We’ll take as much time as your baby needs. If it takes longer, there will be no additional cost to you.

Who will be at the photo shoot?

The whole family is part of the newborn photoshoot—parents, siblings, and, of course, your baby. If you’d like, grandparents are also warmly invited. We’d also be happy to include your dog or other pets in the photoshoot. Please let me know in advance who you’d like to include.

What will we do during the photo shoot?

To start, we’ll take a look around your home together and discuss your wishes again at your leisure. During the newborn photoshoot, we’ll take close-ups, portraits of the baby, and pictures of you as a family. We’ll take breaks for breastfeeding, diaper changes, and cuddling as often as needed.

Behind the Scenes

Here’s How We Take Newborn Photos in Your Home

In the video, you’ll see how a newborn photo session works as a home story and get a sense of what to expect.

I’ll bring everything we need for our photo shoot—my equipment, stylish outfits, accessories, and other props. Other than that, we don’t need much for your newborn photos: a room with natural light and a bed or sofa. I’ll find the spots where the light is most beautiful and set everything up there. I’ll arrange the scenes and angles to create a variety of newborn photos.

While sleeping

Delicate close-ups to start with

If your newborn is sleeping peacefully at the start of the photoshoot, I’ll begin with the close-ups. I lovingly capture the tiny feet, the little hands, the curved ears, and other details. I complement the shots with accessories like a soft wrap, a small knitted blanket, a beautiful scarf, or a hand-knitted hat. Later on, you’ll be amazed at just how tiny those little feet once were, and you’ll remember the precious moments from those first few days.

Natural Poses

Your sleeping baby takes center stage

Your baby is also the focus of the portrait photos. I photograph your newborn in natural poses, always making sure your baby feels comfortable and is in safe hands. Perhaps your newborn is fast asleep, or dozing peacefully in a soft basket. Or maybe your baby is wide-eyed, as if already eager to discover the world.

We’d love to hear your requests and ideas. Maybe you’ve seen a favorite outfit or a newborn pose that you really like? Based on our phone call, I’ll bring clothing, accessories, and props—such as baskets and blankets—for our newborn photoshoot.

Everyone’s here

Photos with siblings and the whole family

When the whole family is together, emotional moments unfold. Family photos capture your love and connection in their purest form. You laugh, cuddle, and enjoy those first moments together. Mom holds her baby close, lost in a deep sense of connection. Dad looks proudly at his little one, rests his hand on the tiny head, and savors the joy of fatherhood.

The moments with the older children are also heartwarming. We take the time the siblings need to build trust. We involve them in the photo sessions in a playful way and give them space to settle in at their own pace. With a delicate touch, I capture their first curious glances, their cautious caresses, and their joy at the new addition to the family.

I place special importance on making sure the brothers and sisters feel comfortable during the newborn photoshoot and that they, too, get to be the center of attention for a while. If a sibling doesn’t want to be photographed, I recommend respecting that.

The baby sets the pace

A Comfortable Atmosphere and Safety for Your Newborn

The first few days after giving birth are often an emotional time: filled with immense pride and overwhelming love, but perhaps also with uncertainty and exhaustion. As a mother of three, I know exactly how you feel. When I visit you, I’ll bring not only my equipment, but above all, a great deal of understanding, patience, and an open heart.

Relaxed Parents, Relaxed Baby

The more relaxed you are as parents, the calmer your baby will be. If you’re nervous or worried, your little one will sense it right away. Don’t worry if things don’t go as planned, and let me gently guide you through the process.

For newborn photography, I take as much time as we need. If your newborn needs a cuddle or a feeding break, or if the siblings need a moment to warm up, we’ll wait patiently.

Safe Handling and Hygiene

Your baby is in safe hands with me. As a newborn photographer, I am trained in the safe handling of newborns. I only photograph newborn poses that your baby assumes on its own, and I support your baby at all times. All materials are freshly laundered, and your newborn is never left unattended.

Through the sixth week

Missed the newborn photo shoot? You can still do it later

Perhaps you hadn’t thought about a newborn photoshoot during your pregnancy, or the first few weeks after the birth were all about adjusting to your new family life. Once daily life has settled into a routine, you’ll often find yourself longing to capture your family’s happiness and your little miracle in photographs.

If you missed the newborn photoshoot during the first two weeks, I can offer you a newborn-style photo shoot. Between your baby’s third and sixth weeks of life, there’s a window of opportunity during which—with a little luck—many newborn poses are still possible.

During this phase, I can still capture gentle poses, use classic props like scarves and baskets, and take close-ups of those delicate little feet and hands. During our photo session, I’m able to be more flexible and patient, since your baby is awake longer and reacts more sensitively to external stimuli than in the first few days of life.

It’s best to get in touch right away once you’ve made your decision, because every day counts during this time. We’ll then discuss whether we can still reschedule the newborn photoshoot. If your baby is already too old for that, you’ll find the right photoshoot on my baby photography page.

You’re not alone in this

What’s still on your mind before the shoot?

I don’t really feel comfortable in front of the camera right now

I hear this phrase most often from new moms, and it’s completely understandable. Your body has just performed a miracle; you’re exhausted and not at your best right now. But your baby doesn’t see the dark circles under your eyes or your messy hair. It sees pure love, warmth, and security. These are the feelings we capture in photos during this special time. We choose poses that make you feel comfortable and mix shots of the newborn alone, photos of the two of you, and pictures with the whole family. I’m happy to accommodate minor retouching requests, such as removing dark circles under the eyes and similar details!

What if our baby cries or doesn’t sleep?

Sometimes your little one is fussy, doesn’t want to sleep, or is just having a bad day. Siblings can also be shy or just not in the mood. That’s completely normal! Enchanting newborn photos can still be taken even when your baby is a little fussy. As an experienced newborn photographer and mother of three, I bring plenty of patience and experience to these situations. When you, as parents, stay relaxed, it rubs off on your baby. So far, every photo session has yielded a beautiful selection of photos—even the restless ones!

Is our apartment suitable for the newborn photoshoot?

For our newborn photoshoot, your apartment doesn’t need to be particularly large, perfectly furnished, or spotless. Most of our newborn photos have been taken in ordinary—and sometimes even small—apartments in Munich. A sofa, a bed, and some natural light from the window are all you need. Your apartment doesn’t have to look perfect. Shortly after the birth, you’ll have more important things on your mind. I’ll bring everything I need and find the right angles and lighting. Send me a few photos of the rooms in advance via WhatsApp, and I’ll be happy to give you some advice!
