Your home is the perfect place for relaxed family photos. With a home photo shoot, you’ll feel right at home as a family; the kids are in their familiar surroundings and can take breaks whenever they want. Very emotional and personal family moments often happen within the comfort of your own home.

Before every photo shoot, I talk to my clients on the phone to understand their vision and take note of their wishes. Which location is right for your family? What kinds of shots are important to you? Do you have any special requests? Together, we’ll brainstorm ideas and plan your family photo shoot. As an experienced family photographer and mother of three, I know how important it is for everyone to feel comfortable. With a lot of patience and understanding for family dynamics, I create an environment in which you can relax right from the start.
The kids set the pace: Your children are the stars of the photo shoot and set the rhythm. If they need a break to run around, eat, or cuddle, we’ll take that time. I adapt to your family’s pace and dynamics.
No stiff poses or rules: For our family photo shoot in Munich, you don’t have to act a certain way or pose perfectly. I’ll gently guide you and capture the moments when you’re playing, laughing, or cuddling together.
Time for authentic moments: We’re happy to take as much time as needed for our family photo shoot to capture wonderful family photos. Without any time pressure and with plenty of patience, we’ll create the most natural-looking family photos.
An outdoor family photo shoot usually starts with us getting to know each other better. I’ll give you time to arrive at the location and get comfortable. The kids can explore the surroundings while we go over the plan and answer any last questions you may have. This gentle start is important so that everyone can relax and no one feels like they have to pose.
During a family photo shoot, I try to capture the family, the individual members, and their interactions through photography. I often start with pictures of the whole family: Mom, Dad, and all the kids together. These group shots are a great way to break the ice at the beginning. You arrive as a family, the kids get used to the situation, and I get a feel for your family dynamics.
Instead of stiff poses, I’ll guide you toward natural situations: “Let’s have your little one stand in the middle and all snuggle up together,” or “Let’s all walk toward me together, as if you were going for a walk.”
After we have completed the shots of the whole family, I focus on smaller groups and interactions. This phase is followed by lively small group pictures with lots of emotional elements.
Sibling Photos: The siblings run around together, get into mischief, or cuddle with each other. I let them play, talk to each other, or tickle one another. Sometimes they share the most wonderful laughter; other times, they share quiet, intimate moments together.
Mother-Child Moments: The bond between mother and child is something truly special. Whether you’re taking a walk together through a meadow, blowing on dandelion seeds, or cuddling on a blanket, I’ll capture your connection in natural family photos.
Dad-and-Kid Adventures: Things can get pretty action-packed with Dad. Tossing each other in the air, riding on his shoulders, balancing together on tree trunks—these dynamic moments highlight the special bond between fathers and their children.
Couple Photos: While the kids are playing for a bit or digging into their snacks, I take this opportunity to capture a few heartwarming shots of Mom and Dad. Sometimes these result in romantic photos of the two of you, and other times they’re playful, tongue-in-cheek shots of you as a couple.
Now I move on to individual portraits of the family members, with a strong focus on the children. Now each child gets to be the star of the shoot and receives my undivided attention. We try out different poses and photo scenarios: sometimes serious and pensive, sometimes silly and playful. Often, the families or the children have specific requests, which we bring to life through photography.
For outdoor family photo shoots, I prefer to use natural light. The light is especially beautiful about one to two hours before sunset, during the golden hour. This lighting often creates atmospheric images, such as backlit shots where the sun shines through your hair.
Throughout the entire shoot, I’ll alternate between different types of shots. Sometimes you’ll look directly into the camera, and other times I’ll capture seemingly candid moments of you. Sometimes these are wide-angle shots that include the landscape; other times, they’re intimate and emotional close-ups. This variety ensures that you’ll later find a wide selection of different family photos in the online gallery.
In a “Homestory” session at your own home, the family photos that result are usually very personal and heartwarming. Your children are in their familiar surroundings and feel safe. You can take breaks at any time if someone gets tired or hungry. Everything you need is right at your fingertips.
A typical home story begins where the family spends the most time. Often it’s the living room. We start informally so that everyone gets used to the camera and the shoot. Maybe you sit on the sofa and read a book together, or the children show me their favorite toys.
A child’s room is an exciting place. This is the children’s kingdom. They proudly show me their favorite things, build towers with building blocks, or play with their dolls. It is in this familiar setting that authentic portraits of children come to life.
The kitchen is ideal for interactive moments. Maybe you bake cookies together. Or prepare a snack together. It’s these everyday situations that often bring back fond memories later on.
Intimate moments happen in the parents’ bedroom. The classic bedtime story ritual on the bed, snuggling together under the covers, or an afternoon pillow fight: these private moments reflect the closeness of your family.
