Take enough time: Good portraits are created without time pressure. People need different amounts of time to feel comfortable in front of the camera and to arrive at the shoot. I plan my portrait shoots so that we have time for different outfits and image ideas. With enough time and breaks, we manage to capture natural moments and authentic portraits.

All-round carefree package: In my portrait photo shoots you get a full service with no hidden costs, from consultation to styling guide to lovingly edited portrait pictures.
Modular structure: Each photo shoot consists of a photo session, a picture package and extras if required. Attention, the photo session does not include any pictures!
Picture package: You choose your picture package after the photo shoot when selecting your personal favorites in the online gallery. This means you don’t have to decide on a picture package before the photo shoot, but can choose your pictures as you like them and only pay for them.
Extras: I charge extra for shootings on weekends or holidays, for shootings in the studio and for shootings outside of Munich.

What is the procedure for the portrait shoot?
Every portrait photo shoot is individual and is based on your wishes. Before the shoot, we will discuss which location and process best suits your plans. I will then gently guide you through the shoot.
How long does a portrait shoot take?
A portrait shoot with me in Munich often takes 1-1.5 hours, but this depends on your ideas.
Where could my portrait shoot take place? Would it also be possible to take the portrait pictures outdoors ?
I am happy to respond to your wishes. I often shoot outdoors in nature in natural light, but I am also happy to come to your home, your company or make my studio available to you. Outdoor portrait shoots are of course possible, they are a relaxed and fresh alternative in many situations.
When is the best time to do a portrait shoot?
You can do a portrait shoot at any time. You can use the special characteristics of the season for outdoor shoots at any time of year. Indoor portrait shoots are of course also possible all year round.
Do you use flash in portrait photography?
I prefer to work without flash in portrait photography. Instead, I prefer to use natural daylight or existing ambient light. This ensures soft, harmonious portraits with a natural look. If the lighting situation requires it, for example in very dark rooms or special requests, I supplement the ambient light.
How long does it take until I receive my portrait photos after the shoot?
If we do not make a separate agreement, you can assume that I will usually make the images available for download via the online gallery after one week.
How many pictures do I get from the portrait shoot?
After our portrait photo shoot, I will post a selection of the best pictures, at least 80, in an online gallery. You choose your personal favorites in the online gallery and the matching picture package.
Will I receive all images or a selection of images?
Of course, more pictures are taken during the shoot than end up in the online gallery. After the shoot, I select the best images from the series and edit them professionally. I make this selection of images available to you in the online gallery.
Can I also get black and white versions of my portraits?
Yes, I will provide you with all images in black and white at no extra cost.
Is image editing already included in the price? Is comprehensive beauty retouching also included or bookable?
Yes, professional image processing of all images is included in the price. I adjust brightness, colors and contrasts uniformly across the image series. If we have agreed, I will also carry out light beauty retouching as part of the image processing. If more complex image editing such as more extensive beauty retouching, object removal or photomontage is required, we will agree on the cost together.
How can I use my images? Can I post them on social media ? Do the image usage rights cost extra?
You can use your images for private purposes without restriction, including posting them on social media, for example. The image usage rights are already included in the shooting price. The same applies for business purposes, for which we will sign a separate agreement in which I grant you the image usage rights.
How much does a portrait shoot with you cost ? What additional costs could be incurred?
You can find more information further up on this page under “Prices for portrait shoots“. All the usual elements are already included in my fee, so there are only additional costs in the cases listed under “Extras”.
How can I prepare for the portrait photo shoot?
Think about what you would like to express with your portrait photos and which location, outfits, poses and expressions would suit you. We will be happy to discuss these topics together in a preliminary talk. The best preparation is to come to the shoot relaxed and feeling comfortable. If you have any questions or are unsure, please contact me before the appointment!
What should I wear for a portrait shoot? Which outfit is best suited?
Medium-light to medium-dark tones are usually well suited for a photo shoot. With very dark colors such as black, the facial features can fade too much into the background. Off-white, creamy white or ivory white are more suitable than snow white. Colors should be muted or coordinated in pastel colors. If the colors are too bright and gaudy, the pictures often appear unsettling.
Plain-colored clothing will show you off to your best advantage. You should avoid large lettering, logos or eye-catching patterns as they are too distracting. Brand logos also quickly look outdated in portraits. Accessories such as a nice scarf, a shawl or a (sun) hat allow for variety without having to change completely. Bring 2-3 outfits with you to create different looks.
On what occasions do clients book a portrait photo shoot with you?
I photograph portraits for a wide variety of occasions. These can be private pictures for your own living room or as a gift, but also casual indoor portraits or outdoor portraits. Portraits are always included in my family photo shoots and children’s photo shoots. However, I do not offer studio job application photos or passport photos.
Can I postpone the portrait shoot in case of bad weather or illness ?
If the weather is not good enough for an outdoor portrait shoot in Munich, we will choose a weatherproof alternative location or we will postpone the portrait shoot. If you are ill, please let me know in good time and we will find a good alternative or a new date.
Can you help me with make-up or hairstyling ?

I feel uncomfortable in front of the camera. What is the best way to deal with this?
Many people feel that way, and I’m used to dealing with it. We take our time at the beginning so that you arrive in front of the camera. I’ll give you brief instructions and talk to you during the shoot. Feel free to let me know if you are unsure or if something is bothering you.
Do you also offer portrait shoots outside of Munich?
Yes, I also take photos outside of Munich. Please note the additional costs for the journey.
What is the difference between a portrait and a headshot?
The main difference between a portrait and a headshot lies in the framing. A headshot only shows the head and shoulders in a tight frame, the focus is completely on the face. A portrait can show the whole body or use different sections and often includes the surroundings. In my portrait photo shoots, I usually create both variants.
