When is the best time for your newborn shoot?
The typical dreamy photos of newborns are usually taken within the first two weeks of life. During this time, they are usually still very sleepy and can be put into typical newborn poses straight away, which is often what makes newborn photos so special. I therefore generally recommend planning your newborn shoot between the 4th and 14th day after birth.
Maybe you haven’t thought about a newborn photo shoot yet, or things have turned out a little differently than planned after the birth? No problem, you may be able to make up for the newborn shoot later, or you may decide to have a baby photo shoot at a later date. Choose the time that feels right for you and get in touch with me as soon as you have made your decision.

Newborn shoot as a home story: Most customers opt for a newborn shoot at home. Your baby is most relaxed in their own four walls, knows the smells and sounds and feels very comfortable. You save yourself the stress of traveling, have everything to hand and can take relaxing breaks between shots. A newborn shoot as a home story produces the most authentic pictures. We use the natural light in your home and create intimate moments in your familiar surroundings.
Outdoor newborn photography: On request and if the weather permits, we are also happy to go outside: in front of the door, in your garden or in the nearest park. In pleasant temperatures, outdoor shots complement the home story pictures perfectly and give you a nice variety in the picture selection.

In the newborn shoot, I create images that reflect the unique details of your newborn, delicate portraits of the newborn that reflect the first character traits and emotional images with the family that show the emotional bond and joy of the new addition to the family. I adapt the order of the motifs flexibly during the shoot, depending on whether the newborn is asleep or awake, whether we are taking a break or what the mood of the siblings is at the time.
When your baby is slumbering peacefully at the beginning of the newborn shoot, I like to start with detailed shots. I lovingly capture the tiny feet and toes, the little hands, the gently curved ears and other adorable details. I lovingly complement the shots with selected accessories, such as a hand-knitted hat, a soft wrap or a small blanket. After the newborn shoot, I sort through the photos and select the most beautiful and emotional newborn photos for you. I then edit each photo professionally and lovingly. I harmonize the colors and exposure, retouch skin blemishes and redness of your baby and make sure that the pictures match my personal image look.
I make the selection of the best pictures available to you in an online gallery. I combine detail pictures, portraits and family pictures in a balanced way. I also mix pictures in which you look directly into the camera with spontaneous, natural and seemingly unobserved situations. In these shots, you interact with each other, laugh, cuddle or play. This creates family photos that express the deep bond and joy of the new family member.
You take your time to look at the pictures in the online gallery and select your personal favorites. Then decide on a picture package. If you have difficulty deciding, choose the whole gallery as a picture package. I will then make the images available for you to download in high quality from the online gallery. On request, I can also recommend photo products that you can use to present your memories at home. This way, your newborn photos will become lasting memories that you can enjoy every day.

The first few days with your baby are filled with endless emotions: pride and overwhelming love, but perhaps also uncertainty and exhaustion. As a mother of three, I know exactly how you feel. When I visit you, I not only bring my equipment with me, but above all a lot of understanding, patience and an open heart for you.
During my newborn shootings in Munich, I make sure to create a warm, trusting and relaxed atmosphere. With a lot of calm and patience for newborns, siblings and parents, as a newborn photographer I create candid newborn photos, lively sibling photos and great family photos for you.
Your baby senses your relaxation: The more relaxed you are as parents, the calmer and happier your baby will be. If you are nervous or worried, your little treasure will sense this immediately. That’s why I consciously take the time to get to know you at the beginning before the photo session. We talk about your wishes and concerns and I calmly explain to you what we have in mind. It is very important to me that you feel comfortable from the very first moment.
I don’t feel comfortable in front of the camera: I hear this sentence a lot, especially from new moms. It’s completely understandable. Your body has just performed a miracle, you’re tired and perhaps don’t quite feel like yourself again yet. But your baby doesn’t see any dark circles or tousled hair in you. It sees pure love, warmth and security. I photograph these genuine feelings instead of perfect poses. The way you look at your baby, the way your hands close around their tiny fingers, the way daddy smiles proudly are the moments that count.
When not everything goes according to plan: Babies have a mind of their own: sometimes your little darling is restless, doesn’t want to sleep or is simply having a difficult day. Even older siblings can suddenly be shy or not feel like it. This is completely normal and not a problem at all! As an experienced newborn photographer and mother, I have experienced a lot and find a solution for every situation. We take breastfeeding breaks, have a cuddle or come up with a game for the older child while your baby gets some rest. It is often in these unplanned moments that the most beautiful pictures are taken.
Trust is everything: My aim is for our newborn shoot not to feel like a formal photo session, but like a relaxed visit with someone you trust. I want you to behave as naturally and carefree as if you were among yourselves. Because that’s exactly what creates these authentic, touching photos that will melt your heart for years to come. Don’t worry about the right pose or the perfect expression, let me do the photographing and gently guide you. I will observe the natural interactions between you and capture the most beautiful moments.
Time for what’s important: I like to take as much time for newborn photography as we need to take wonderful newborn photos and don’t look at the clock in between. If your baby needs a cuddle or breastfeeding break or the siblings need to warm up first, we are happy to take this into consideration. After the shoot, I select the most beautiful newborn photos and edit them professionally and lovingly. I will provide you with a balanced selection of detailed pictures, portraits and family pictures in an online gallery. You choose your personal favorites and decide on a picture package. I will then make these images available for you to download and will be happy to advise you on photo products on request.

All-round carefree package: In my newborn shootings you get a full service with no hidden costs, from the consultation to lovingly edited newborn photos.
Modular structure: Each photo shoot consists of a photo session, a picture package and extras if required. Attention, the photo session does not include any pictures!
Picture package: You choose your picture package after the photo shoot when selecting your personal favorites in the online gallery. This means you don’t have to decide on a picture package before the photo shoot, but can choose the pictures you like and only pay for them.
Extras: I charge extra for shootings on weekends or holidays, for shootings in the studio and for shootings outside of Munich.

How does the appointment booking work if I don’t know when the birth will be and how I will feel afterwards?
Based on the calculated date of birth (ET), I will enter a provisional date in my calendar as a placeholder. After the birth, you will let me know promptly (within 1-2 days) via WhatsApp and we will arrange the final date for your newborn shoot. I only accept a limited number of newborn shoots per week so that I can offer you a shoot date.
What do we do with our shooting date if something comes up?
Most newborn shootings take place as a home story, so we are not dependent on the weather. If someone is ill or otherwise unavailable, please let me know in good time. Then we will find a good solution or a new date.
How much does a newborn photo shoot cost with you?
The price for the newborn photo shoot is made up of the price for the photo session and the price for the chosen photo package. For shoots on weekends, public holidays, in the studio or outside of Munich, I charge extra. The packages and prices are detailed on this page.
How long does a newborn shoot take with you?
A newborn shoot usually takes between two and three hours, depending on the number of subjects and interruptions. If necessary, we take short breaks for changing diapers, breastfeeding or cuddling. I take as much time as we need to photograph a beautiful selection of subjects. It’s best to plan enough free time after the shoot in case we need a little longer due to breaks.
What styles can you offer us in newborn photography?
You can see my photographic style in the pictures. I like to photograph naturally and authentically, in coordinated colors and with subtle accessories. Before the shoot, we’ll have a preliminary talk to find out whether you prefer a purist or more playful style. I will be happy to respond to your wishes and we will focus more on natural newborn photos, romantic newborn photos or discreet newborn photos with a boho look.
Which location can you recommend for our newborn photo shoot?
With me you have the choice of different locations, a comfortable newborn shoot at your home, an outdoor newborn shoot or newborn photography in the studio. I recommend the newborn shoot as a home story, as it is most comfortable for you in the first few days after the birth and the most beautiful and relaxed newborn pictures are created at home.
Can you provide us with outfits and accessories for our baby?
Yes, by telephone arrangement I will bring a selection of harmonious outfits for the baby and beautiful accessories such as blankets, scarves and baskets. However, I recommend that you also come up with your own ideas and have particularly beautiful outfits, personal accessories and toys ready.
Can we also include our own outfits for our newborn?
Of course, it is also my clear recommendation that you prepare your favorite pieces of clothing, special accessories or favorite toys. In this blog post you will find tips for your newborn shoot outfit.
Which outfits are best to choose as a family for our newborn shoot?
I recommend that you agree on two or three colors and combine your clothes in shades of these colors. It looks harmonious and well coordinated if the colors or color nuances are partially reflected in the clothing of the other family members.
On the other hand, you should avoid lettering, pictures or other motifs on clothing, as they distract the viewer and make the pictures look less timeless.
I have a lot of experience in newborn photography and know many suitable poses and motifs that might suit you well. However, it is wonderful if you bring in your own wishes and ideas. Together we will find the most beautiful poses and motifs for you.
Should we include us parents and the siblings in the newborn shoot?
I always recommend including the parents and siblings in the newborn shoot. All parents, children, siblings, grandparents and pets are welcome. I am happy to take family photos with everyone and will adapt to your wishes.
How can we as parents prepare for the newborn photo shoot?
With a little preparation, your newborn shoot will run smoothly and you and your baby will not be unnecessarily stressed.
You are welcome to put together your favorite outfits. If you like, incorporate a special cuddly toy, blanket or similar accessory into the shoot. If your baby takes a pacifier, make sure you have it to hand.
It is very helpful if your baby is full and content at the start of the shoot. It’s best to keep them awake a little before the shoot so that they are tired and fall asleep during the shoot. But don’t stress yourselves, with a lot of patience most babies manage after a while.
How do we deal with the fact that our home is not suitable for newborn photography?
We don’t need much for a great newborn shoot, as your baby’s radius is still very limited. We can take photos in any room, be it the living room, bedroom, nursery or any other room. As a newborn photographer, I have already taken beautiful newborn photos in a wide variety of homes. Send me a few pictures of your home via WhatsApp and I’ll be happy to advise you!
What if I don’t feel comfortable in front of the camera?
I hear this phrase especially from new moms, and I can understand your feelings. From your baby’s point of view, what counts is warmth, security and pure love. It is these feelings that we capture in the best possible way in beautiful pictures during this highly emotional time. We choose the poses so that you feel comfortable and mix pictures of the newborn alone, pictures as a couple and with the whole family.
What if our baby has a bad day in the newborn shoot, doesn’t sleep or is restless?
Please don’t worry that we won’t take nice pictures during the photo shoot. If you relax as parents, this will also have a very positive effect on your baby and the siblings. I am very patient and experienced in newborn photography, so I have been able to take wonderful newborn photos in every shoot.
Is the safety of our baby guaranteed in the newborn shoot?
The safety of your baby during the newborn shoot is my top priority. I am specially trained in newborn photography and regularly undergo further training. As a mother of three, I have learned how to handle babies over a long period of time. I avoid unnatural and dangerous poses and treat your baby gently and carefully.
Does newborn photography stress our baby?
A professional newborn photo shoot is a relaxing experience for your baby. The warm, cuddly atmosphere and gentle swaddling will remind them of their mother’s tummy and make them feel secure. I work with a lot of patience and follow your baby’s rhythm with enough time for breaks for breastfeeding and cuddling. Many babies sleep soundly during the shoot.
How do we deal with it if the siblings don’t want to take part in the shoot?
We take the time that the siblings need to gain confidence. I playfully distract them or involve them in the shoot in other ways. The most authentic and beautiful pictures are often taken in these informal moments. If a sibling does not want to be photographed at all, I recommend respecting this. We then concentrate on the newborn and the parents, and the older siblings look on in a relaxed manner. You can find some tips in the article Newborn shoot with siblings.
When do we get our newborn photos after the shoot?
You will receive your photos promptly, usually within a week after the newborn shoot in an online gallery for viewing. I will send you a message as soon as the gallery is ready. Then you can view the pictures at your leisure and choose your favorites,
How are our newborn pictures processed?
After the newborn shoot, I sort through the pictures and select the best ones for you. I then edit them professionally, in particular I adjust the exposure and color balance and reduce redness and flaking of the newborn’s skin. If you would also like a full beauty retouch of the adults or have special editing requests, please contact me.
How many photos do we get after the newborn shoot?
After the photo shoot, I will post at least 80 pictures in the online gallery. You choose your personal favorites from these pictures in the online gallery. The image packages contain different numbers of images. I also offer you the option of removing all the pictures from the gallery. You can find the image packages in the price information.
