An engagement shoot is a photo shoot on the occasion of your engagement. It captures the special moments before the wedding and is also a wonderful opportunity to prepare for the wedding photos. In contrast to a classic couple shoot, the focus is often on the connection to the upcoming wedding, for example for invitation cards, your wedding website or to get to know your photographer.

When is the best time for an engagement photo shoot?

The best time for an engagement photo shoot is around three to six months before your wedding. This gives you enough time to use the resulting pictures for your stationery, invitations or wedding website. However, an engagement shoot is of course also possible at any time, regardless of the wedding date and the engagement date.

Which location is suitable for our engagement shoot? Can we suggest a location ourselves? Do you have any suggestions or tips for choosing a location?

Locations that reflect you as a couple well are suitable for your engagement shoot, be it in the countryside, by the Isar or in a place with personal significance. You are welcome to suggest a location yourself. If you are unsure, I will be happy to advise you and recommend suitable locations in and around Munich that are ideal for an engagement shoot.

Is an outdoor engagement shoot better than a studio shoot?

An outdoor engagement shoot usually offers you more natural and lively pictures than a shoot in the studio. The surroundings, the light and the freedom of movement create a relaxed atmosphere. I like to work with natural light and prefer to shoot outdoors, which ensures authentic, emotional images with a lot of closeness and personality.

How much time do you need for an engagement shoot? How long does an engagement shoot usually take?

You should plan around one to two hours for an engagement shoot. This is enough time to take photos at one or two locations, try out different motifs and relax in between. Depending on your wishes, the shoot can also be shorter or longer, I will adapt to you.

How does an engagement shoot work? Do we have to strike certain poses? Can we bring in our own ideas? What ideas do you have for engagement photos?

The process of an engagement shoot is relaxed and uncomplicated. You don’t have to take any fixed poses, I will accompany you discreetly and give you small suggestions. Of course, you can also bring in your own ideas or wishes, such as specific motifs, accessories or poses. I have lots of ideas for engagement photos that show your closeness, your story and your personalities.

What should we wear for the engagement shoot? Are there any tips for choosing an outfit? Can we change outfits?

For your engagement shoot, I recommend outfits in which you feel comfortable, preferably color-coordinated, without large logos or eye-catching patterns. Neutral or muted tones look particularly harmonious in photos. You are welcome to bring a second outfit with you and change on location, which brings variety to the pictures and makes the shoot even more personal.

What’s the best way to prepare for the engagement shoot?

The best way to prepare for your engagement shoot is to simply be yourself. Think about a suitable location, an outfit and whether you have any specific wishes or ideas in advance. Everything else will happen on location. I will help you to feel comfortable in front of the camera.

How do we deal with feeling insecure in front of the camera?

If you feel insecure in front of the camera, that’s completely normal, and that’s exactly what an engagement shoot is perfect for. I will accompany you calmly and sensitively, give you little hints and leave plenty of time for real moments. You’ll soon realize that it’s not about perfect poses.

How do I book an engagement shoot with you?

What does an engagement shoot cost?

The costs for an engagement shoot depend on the duration, location and desired image package. I will be happy to make you an individual offer after we have exchanged ideas.

What happens in bad weather? What happens if someone falls ill at short notice?

If the weather is bad, we will find a solution together; either we postpone the shoot or find a location that is sheltered from the weather. If someone falls ill, we can easily arrange an alternative date.

Will our engagement photos be edited?

Yes, I edit all engagement photos professionally. I attach great importance to a natural look with harmonious colors, soft light and harmonious contrasts. The editing is done in my style, individually and with great attention to detail.

When will we receive our photos? How many photos will we receive?

You will receive your finished pictures a few days after the shoot via an online gallery. I will estimate how many pictures you will receive based on your ideas. In any case, you will receive a large selection from which you can choose your favorites.

How does the image selection work?

After the engagement shoot, I will upload your pictures to an online gallery. There you can take your time to look at all the photos, choose your favorite motifs and decide which pictures you want. Many couples decide to take all the pictures.

What can we use the images for?

You can use the pictures from your engagement shoot in a variety of ways, for example for invitation cards, save-the-date emails, your wedding website, decorations at the party or as a gift for family and friends. Of course, they are also simply a wonderful reminder of your time together before the wedding.

Can we order prints, albums or murals?

Yes, you can have your engagement photos designed as high-quality prints, photo books or murals. I work together with professional partners and will be happy to advise you on the selection to suit your style and the pictures.
