A pregnancy shoot is an experience that can be characterized by emotions, laughter and special moments. But what exactly happens during this session? Here I take you through the entire process so that you know exactly what to expect and can relax and look forward to this special day.

Welcome and getting to know each other

At the beginning, we consciously take a moment to talk calmly, reduce any nervousness and create a relaxed, trusting atmosphere. We talk about your pregnancy, your anticipation of the baby and exchange ideas about the upcoming session. Expectant mothers often tell me about their feelings and expectations. These personal conversations help me to get to know you better and tailor the shoot to your personality.

If you are standing in front of the camera for the first time or are unsure, this is completely normal. I will be happy to explain how the baby bump shoot will work and answer all your questions. My aim is to make you feel comfortable and understood right from the start.

Joint coordination: procedure, wishes and ideas

Before we start the actual shoot, we will discuss your ideas and wishes in detail. Do you have certain poses in mind that you’ve always wanted to try out? Are there any special images you have in mind? What mood should the photos convey? Which areas should we use for the shoot? Should your partner join you later? Are there any accessories or personal items that have a special meaning?

This exchange is crucial because it ensures that the pregnancy shoot goes exactly as you want it to. I listen carefully and at the same time give you my recommendations as to which ideas might suit you and your baby bump particularly well. This planning ensures a smooth process and leaves room for spontaneity.

Selection of outfits and accessories

Depending on how many outfits you have brought with you, we will choose the most suitable ones for the shoot together. I will advise you on which colors and fabrics will accentuate your baby bump and suit the chosen location. Sometimes we change our minds spontaneously because a different outfit suits the light or the mood better.

If you have brought any personal accessories with you, such as baby shoes, ultrasound pictures or a special piece of jewelry, we will work out together how we can incorporate them to create the right atmosphere. The pregnancy photo shoot: natural poses

Now the most intense and beautiful part begins! With gentle instructions and lots of patience, I will help you find the best poses and show you at your most radiant. The focus is always on making you feel comfortable, authentic and beautiful. Many women are unsure at first: “How should I stand? What do I do with my hands?” That’s completely normal! I will guide you step by step through different poses and explain why certain poses show off your baby bump particularly well.

We try out different perspectives: sometimes standing, sometimes sitting, sometimes moving. It is important that the poses look natural and suit you. Some women love playful, lively shots, others prefer calm, classic poses. I adapt to your type and your preferences. Between each shoot, I will give you positive feedback and little tips. This will help you build confidence and become more relaxed and authentic from picture to picture.

Involve your partner and siblings in the shoot

If you wish, your partner, existing children or pets can also be part of the shoot. Photos taken together are a wonderful reminder of this special time of anticipation and create emotional family photos.

When shooting couples, I make sure to capture the special connection between the two of you and your shared anticipation of the baby. Tender moments are created: the partner lovingly touching the baby bump, laughing together or quiet, intimate moments.

If siblings are already present, I playfully involve them. Children often bring a wonderful spontaneity and liveliness to the shoot. I make sure that even the little ones have fun and don’t get bored.

Open exchange and feedback

During the entire shoot, an open exchange with you is very important to me. If you like, we can look at some pictures on the camera in between. This way you can see how beautiful the shots turn out and we can make small adjustments if necessary.

You can take a break at any time if you get tired or feel unwell. Whether you need a moment to take a deep breath, want to sit down for a moment or are thirsty: we will take the time you need.

Your wishes and ideas during the shoot are also welcome. Perhaps you spontaneously think of a pose or you would like to try out a certain perspective. This creative collaboration makes the shoot a special experience.
